From Truck to Smokehouse

Started with a dream and a smoker, now serving BBQ favorites made fresh daily, still bringing the same love to every plate.

A Lifelong Dream on the Grill

A Lifelong Dream on the Grill

I grew up in Long Island, NY, where I learned to cook beside my mother. Her recipes and care in the kitchen stuck with me. After 29 years working in sanitation, I finally followed my dream. I opened a BBQ spot in Freeport, NY. That was just the beginning. In 2022, I brought my love for food to North Carolina. What started as a food truck turned into something bigger—a place where comfort and cooking come together.

Meet the Cook Behind the Pit

Meet the Cook Behind the Pit
My name’s Archie Ware, and I still cook most of the food we serve. I started this place because I wanted to share the comfort I found in the kitchen growing up. I get up early to smoke the meats myself because that’s how I make sure every plate is right. It’s not just business—it’s what I love. If you’ve had our brisket, you’ve had a piece of that story.

A New Chapter, Same Fire

A New Chapter, Same Fire
After nearly 30 years in Sanitation, I knew it was time to chase the dream I’d been holding on to. I opened my first BBQ spot in Freeport, NY, built on the flavors I grew up with. When the time came, I passed it to my son and started fresh in North Carolina. It wasn’t easy to let go, but I trusted him. I carried everything I’d learned with me, ready to build something new while staying true to where it all began.

Built Slow, Served Right

Built Slow, Served Right
In 2021, I started with a small food truck, bringing BBQ to the streets of Wake and Franklin counties. It was never about being the biggest—it was about doing it right. Every dish had a story, just like the journey that followed. Over time, we grew into a brick-and-mortar spot in Youngsville. We're still family-run, still cooking fresh each week, and staying close to the community that helped us grow. That’s what keeps it real.

More Than a Meal

More Than a Meal
The real joy comes from seeing folks enjoy their food—families on the patio, neighbors stopping in, couples sharing brisket. It reminds me why I started: to make people feel cared for. This isn’t just a business—it’s a reflection of everything I’ve learned, starting with my mom in the kitchen. Each recipe has a purpose. We’re proud of our roots and proud to share our story with you. If you’re here, you’re part of it now. Let’s eat.
